Anyone else find it interesting that Palin's husband works for British Petroleum (BP)???

Wow...yeah. Let's just pretend that McCain/Palin aren't for Big Oil.....riiiiight. This brings Palin's reasons for suing the Bush administration into a whole new light. Yes...she actually sued the Bush administration for trying to put Polar Bears on the endangered species list. Many have been saying she did this for big oil and to ensure that she could drill in Alaska. But I wasn't 100% sure....but now I'm convinced! We have found her TRUE motives! It seems to me that SOMEONE is seriously benefitting from this...and now seeing who her husband works for...I can tell you...It's not the American people!!!!!

McCain/Palin '08 --- "Making our economy stronger by keeping it at the mercy of the Middle East" and "Ensuring that America never goes green!"

They obviously have no desire to break this country's dependence on oil - if anything -- they want to increase it.

(btw.. I can think of a whole lotta reasons to sue the Bush administration...but that's not one of them!)

  1. He's a commercial fisherman who is a union worker in the North Slope oil fields during the off season.

  2. Petroleum again?  Ruin our environment, scam our politics, sacrifice our soldiers, and not care for our citizens because petroleum rules again !   Its time for CHANGE !!!

  3. Sounds like a major conspiracy, maybe he's a double agent too!! BTW Has anybody rescued the polar bear that was on that little piece of ice? hahaha Who cares,we need oil now.

  4. My  father always asked "Why were there so many more horses asses than there were horses". If the questioner thought a bit and BP was one of the larger employers paying good to excellent wages would he imagine that Sarah's husband would be out shooting seals or living with the Eskimos? Sounds like the typical Democrat. No wonder Sarah unseated the 'good ole boys". This must be one of them.

  5. She's trying to bring money into her state!  They have quite a bit of oil that Congress won't let them pump.

Sure big oil would benefit, but so would the Americans who live in Alaska that get jobs from it.  Isn't it a Governor's job to bring employment to their state for its residents?

  6. Governor Palin's husband worked on a drilling rig in freezing weather to support his family. Joe Biden works in Congress for MBNA, DuPont, and Dow Chemical.

    Next question?

  7. Yeah, an EMPLOYEE of an oil company and a member of the United Steel Workers Union.  No wonder there's some very nervous Obamabots wringing their hands all over La-La Liberal Land these days...LOL!  Once this fact becomes fully known, Obama will lose even more support among the working class.  This will leave Obama with only his core base---sad,aging hippies, teens and early 20 somethings whose pre-frontal cortex has not fully developed yet, & 30 somethings who still live in mommy and daddy's basement and collect welfare.  (i.e. latte' liberals & losers---BTW, those terms are interchangeable)

Meantime, 2 of Obama's biggest campaign bundlers are oil company execs.  and Obama (not McCain) voted in FAVOR of the Cheney Energy Bill.  It's a matter of the Congressional Record.

Now, don't you feel a little embarrassed at the obvious display of your lack of knowledge of these facts in this public forum?

  8. While I certainly don't have a favorable impression of Sarah as having what it takes to be a VP or president, if needed, her husband doesn't have the kind of job that puts him in a board room. Many people work the pipe lines in Alaska part of the year and do commercial fishing part of the year. This, from my understanding, is what he does.

She on the other hand, has her hands in the oil polices of the state including trying to change the laws to allow drilling in the National Parks and to take the polar bears off the endangered list so drilling can take place in where they live. She is good for the oil lobbyistsand is no different than Bush in this regard.

  9. Suprised a Republican is in the pocket of Oil/Gas?...lol

    nope not a bit

  10. If this is true and not a hatchet job, it means that if McCain wins, we still have Big Oil in the White House

  11. He *did* work for BP.  He quit because he didn't want to create a conflict of interest in negotiations with his wife as Governor.

It's a well known fact in Alaska and It's not a secret now.

Oil companies are not evil.  Oil companies providing you with an energy source has made your life a cushy little paradise.

  12. I strongly suggest you put your crack pipe somewhere which will make it impossible for you to find.

For the record, her husband does work for BP...as a laborer.  He is a system operator working for the Steelworkers Union.

Also, did you miss that, as the governor of Alaska, she fought for and won the right to consturct a Natural Gas pipleline?

I know it is Saturday night and everything, but chemical dependency, including dependence on foreign oil, is personally dangerous.

Anyone who thinks logically knows that no matter the long term energy alternatives, we need more domestic oil...NOW.  Wind, water, solar, natural gas...ALL OF THE ABOVE...is the right strategy.

I will let the UNITED STEELWORKERS UNION know that you think they are in the pocket of big oil.

  13. Yesterday was John McCain's 72nd birthday. If elected, he'd be the oldest president ever inaugurated. And after months of slamming Barack Obama for 'inexperience,' here's who John McCain has chosen to be one heartbeat away from the presidency: a right-wing religious conservative with no foreign policy experience, who until recently was mayor of a town of 9,000 people.

    Huh?

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2

She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5

She's solidly in line with John McCain's 'Big Oil first' energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.7

This is information the American people need to see. Please take a moment to forward this email to your friends and family.

We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here's a sample:

She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. —Rose M., Fairbanks, AK

She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She's a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. —Christine B., Denali Park, AK

As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. —Karen L., Anchorage, AK

Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.—Sherry C., Anchorage, AK

She's vehemently anti-choice and doesn't care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. —Marina L., Juneau, AK

I think she's far too inexperienced to be in this position. I'm all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn't done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain's part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he'll get our vote by putting 'A Woman' in that position.—Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK

So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.

In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country.

In the next few days, many Americans will be wondering what McCain's vice-presidential choice means. Please pass this information along to your friends and family.

  14. Not really.

Many Alaskans work for oil companies.

Puh-leeeze, don't you libs have anything better to do than work on conspiracy theories???

  15. Okay, it would be more productive if you were spouting facts instead of half-truths and outright lies. Let's take this one at a time.

Palin's husband does not work for BP. He did work for BP for 18 years. He quit his position with them when his wife, as governor, began negotiations with BP for the new natural gas pipeline. He quit his position so there would NOT be a conflict of interest.

Palin sued the American government for creating a situation that was not in the best interests of the populace she respresents. Polar Bears in Alaska should not be on the endangered species list for two reasons.

One, there has actually been a bit of a population explosion with Alaskan polar bears. Their numbers have increased tremendously in recent years. Although polar bears in other regions of the world are facing hardship, Alaskan polar bears are actually doing better than ever.

Two, Restrictions outlined by the endangered species act would severely limit Alaska's ability to find new sources of oil. You might think drilling in Alaska helps "big oil" but you would be quite mistaken. Since Bush has begun pushing for offshore drilling and lifting bans that prevent us from drilling in Alaska, gas prices in my area have dropped 60-70 cents a gallon in just a few weeks. Obviously, the idea of Americans generating their own oil supply changed "big oil's" ideas on just how high they can jack up the prices before the USA does something about it. They don't want us to drill, they want us dependent on them.

"McCain/Palin '08 --- "Making our economy stronger by keeping it at the mercy of the Middle East" and "Ensuring that America never goes green!" "

I don't get how you can say either of these things, unless you have yet to do any research on McCain, or you have not listened to him speak.

McCain certainly does not want us at the mercy of the Middle East. First, tapping into America's own oil supplies is a move designed to liberate us from the Middle East. Second, I've listened to both Obama and McCain speaking about energy and it would seem that everyone is pretty much agreed that finding new energy solutions is of the utmost importance. In fact the only thing I have a problem with in either of the candidates plans, is Obama's insistance that it would take 10 years to produce our own oil, when Russia just proved a site can be up and ready to drill within one months time. True we still need refineries, but most of this stuff is literally pre-fab these days, it doesn't take very long it just takes substantial up front funding. Saying that it takes 10 years is either deliberately misleading or horrendously ignorant.

As far as Palin goes, HELLO she is the driving force behind the new Alaskan natural gas pipeline. She sued the US government to make sure her state didn't lose their right to look for and drill for oil. She spoke just yesterday about looking into alternative fuel and starting to take the steps to eventually get us off oil all together.

So what did we learn here? You should do your homework before you run your mout to avoid sounding like an ignorant hateful and misguided fool. Have a nice day.

  16. did you know her husband is a registered independent?

  17. Do me a little favor.....Do yourself a little favor and check and see how many people in Alaska work for BP.

What exactly do you think they do there..make popsickles?

OMG...I'm not normally this rude but I cannot believe people are this dense >.< *rubs temples*  I mean if you watch any part of the history channel....h**l..if you watch fricken Ice Road Truckers you would know how important alaska is in natural gas and oil production....

  18. You gotta make a living somehow.  Jobs in Alaska are sort of limited to about three things, oil, fishing, and tourism.

I believe he has quit that job, so there's no conflict of interest.  He also worked as a commercial fisherman.  I guess the environmentalists will love that one, too.

And, by the way, the bit about the law suit over the polar bears, it's true.  Polar bears are not endangered.  Their population has increased.  Do some research on Polar Bear populations.  Putting them on the endangered species list had nothing to do with polar bears, and everything to do with the environmental lobby, trying to keep ANWR "pristine," whatever that means.  We brought Alaska into the union because we wanted the natural resources, dummies.  Not because it's such a lovely place we just had to have it.  That was Hawaii.

Who keeps posting that same c**p from whatever website they're getting it from?  It's plagiarism.  At least put the numbers in front of the sentences, like normal people do.

  19. Another liberal nut with yet another "conspiracy theory".  Libs seem to have a new conspiracy theory for every day of the week.  Paranoid much?  Here's a hint-take your meds, they will make the little blue men go away!

  20. hahah....the guy is some blue collar worker

    you like conspiracies though...

  21. Liberal insanitiy as usual. OIl is evil. We don't need to drill. Oil companies are evil. Put them out of business. Meanwhile, I wish these liberals would have to pedal their bicicles out to the country side to get their food and not have their computers plugged in as they would have no oil or gas or coal fired plant to produce the electricity for it.

By the way, Palins husband is American Indian and for four years has won the local dog sled race, he is far more a man than you.

  22. sorry but you can't sue pres bush

where did you get this info

  23. You've been watching too many cartoons. They've gone to your head.

Really, they're just cartoons - you know - make believe.

So now back to reality, what kind of blue collar job in Alaska should her husband do that would meet with your approval since you obviously prefer socialism?

As to the rest of America, we rather prefer our freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - working for a living where we want to - if that's okay with you of course.

  24. It is well known that Palin helped pass a tax increase on oil company profits.  In March 2007, Palin presented the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) as the new legal vehicle for building a natural gas pipeline from the state's North Slope. This negated a deal by the previous governor to grant the contract to a coalition including BP (her husband's former employer).

Palin's tenure is noted for her independence from big oil companies, while still promoting resource development. Palin has announced plans to create a new sub-cabinet group of advisors, to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions within Alaska.

  25. She'll probably use this in her advantage saying it gives her foreign policy cred.

  26. Uh you DO know he works out in the oil FIELDS, right?  As in blue-collar worker? By your logic, the guy who rings me up at the Shell station down the street is "big oil."

  27. Yeah, another big oil man. Just what we need in the whitehouse again. p**s on the Republicans.

  28. I don't know if this is true or not:  Yes...she actually sued the Bush administration for trying to put Polar Bears on the endangered species list. Many have been saying she did this for big oil and to ensure that she could drill in Alaska.

But if it is - LOL!!!  Wake UP people!  OMG - what does it take, seriously?!

This American era will be called Roveism or ThetimewhenAmericans becamestupidsheepwhobelieveanythingFNNsa... Era

  29. just more of the same Mccain!

  30. Give me a break he has been working there for years I bet.

Hey when they start using our own resources and gas prices finally drop who are you going to thank?

  31. I am not surprised at sll - As they say - it is al about oil.  And getting their pockets fat!
