Nascar called this race rather quickly... I've seen them hold races for hours on end...

This was by far the worst race of the year.

  1. There were only 17 laps left.  Can you imagine how much money they would have wasted if they tried to dry it?  Gas, man hours, etc...  Plus all the teams would have been inconvenienced waiting it out.

    NASCAR did the right thing.

I think Kasey Kahne said it best when they first got the red flag "NASCAR might as well call it because the best cars are not going to win no matter what."

  2. Would you like a lemon wedge with that whine?

  3. Not odd at all. Big rain and few laps to go. The drivers and crews knew the end was near. That is why it was such great strategy by the also rans to stay out and take home the spoils.

  4. They ended it so quickly because there weren't many laps left and the storm became so bad they had to move victory lane indoors.  The fans were leaving and it would have been a huge waste of money to try to wait out the storm.  I think they made a good call, the race needed to end.

  5. A bit, since the TNT guys said there's still loads of daylight left...and they didn't even attempt to dry it like Friday's quals.

This was by far one of the wildest and unusual finishes we have.

The good dominant drivers fell back to this untimely rain storm.

  6. There was lots of daylight left, but that storm cell was huge. It wasn't just a brief shower. They would have never gotten the last 17 laps in.

  7. i think they called it so quick because tempers were flairing and they didnt want people back on the track with all of their anger

  8. even if it was to stop raining it would of taken at least  1 hour to dry the track with so few laps left it really wasn't worth it.

also Nascar does keep an eye on the weather and decided to call it when they saw there really be to much of an opening to get the rest of the race in.

  9. Red flag and wait for hours, then use a good chunk of time to dry the surface, and get the cars going for a whole 17 laps? NASCAR made a good call with that one.

  10. did you see how big the storm cell was on radar. They know.

  11. well there were only a couple of laps left but i wanted them to finish it! it would of been awesome.so mad that jeff gordon came in 11th he had a top 5 car. but i thought that it was a awesome race and i loved it!

  12. agrees tony should of won........... i feel like zippi ........ take all sharp objects away from me.................hummmmmmmmmmmm.

  13. I am sure they were watching the radar.  I heard there was wind coming in.  They wanted to clear the stands before the wind hit.  Yes I did not like the race.  But this type of race is getting to be the norm.

  14. i agree because if it didn't rain out and would of last longer hamlin would of won

  15. the radar showed they wouldnt get going again soon
