I am so excited, I am about 50% done and I hope to finish up before October so I don't have to deal with malls, traffic or any rush stress.

Anyone else start their shopping in the summer?

  1. I thought I was alone in my insanity!!  I used to wait until the week of--all the rushing around and freaking out was good while I was very young (early 20's), but now that I have a family, I shop early.  Our daughter's birthday is in August, so we shop for her b-day and her xmas gifts.  I just bought hubby's gift the other day....I'm not as close to done as you are, but I will be finished by Halloween (except for candy for the stockings)...

  2. I love finishing early so that I can just relax and enjoy the holiday season!!!

  3. Not yet, though the Sears Wishbook is about to come out in the next few weeks. Maybe I'll buy something out of the catalog right away if anything catches my eye.

  4. Yep, I started at the after Christmas sales.  I start making some of the gifts in June to have them all done by October.  I send a lot of gifts overseas and to get them there in time, I need to have them made, bought, wrapped, packed and shipped by early October.  I usually start making the homemade goodies for the trash man, the postal person, people hubby works with, neighbors and people who I want to thank for what they do all year long at Thanksgiving.  I freeze it until the first week of December when I package it up for distribution.  Makes for really stress free holidays, no debt and an enjoyable holiday season.

  5. yeah i've started. i don't know why more people don't start early! It's soooo much fun having it all done and not having to wait!

  6. Actually I want to start now soon!

But i LOVE going out during the month of december and november and see all the Christmas specials.

  7. I do all of my shopping online so I like to do it closer to the holiday...I actually have a day marked on my calendar called "Online Shopping Day".  I make lists in advance and I am well organized when I start.  My online shopping day is sort of a mini holiday in all of my Christmas activities.
