High gas prices have curbed my summer travel, but I must admit that I am going a bit crazy seeing the same old things around town day in and day out.

  1. Amen. All I can think of is a long road trip in a comfortable car;  no airport hassles and lots of time to listen to music!

  2. I am not letting gas prices ruin my roadtrip plans but yes, I get massive cabin fever.  Usually within 3 or 4 weeks of getting back from one vacation I'm just dying to get out and go on another.  Especiall in my city, there is NOTHING to do.  The stuff that might be fun to do is overpriced cause it's in the tourist areas and you have to combat with them, which is fine when you're on holiday but when you're home is 15 minutes away it's not so fun. lol

  3. No, the price of fuel is a tiny part of my household budget. My Vacation travel plans for the year are a cruise to Bermuda in July, a trip to Cabo in November and possible some long weekends at the Jersey Shore (depending on how busy work gets).

It's a shame that so many American's foolishly lived beyond their means. Getting a Ford Excursion lease for $500 a month when a Ford Focus Wagon at $199 a month would do. Or getting an adjustable rate mortgage on a McMansion when a 15 year fixed on a Cape Cod would do.

I guess the chickens are finally coming home to roost.
