Anyone else had this sort of experience with pregnancy testing?

Question

My period was two days late and I was using cheap tests to test up until this morning. They all came back negative. I went and bought a clearblue one and it came back positive just now.

I sensed that I was pregnant as I had had a few untoward symptoms and even today I'd been feeling dizzy and tired...

It might just have been that they were unable to detect the pregnancy hormone.  I have always been alittle worried about the cheap brands though.  But congrats!!!

I dont think that it came back negative just because the test was cheap.  Some can give you a negative result even though youre pregnant!  You can have a positive negative but never a negative positive!  On going to the doctors when I did my test they took the test as I was pregnant.  They dont re test you so it doesnt see real til you have your first scan at 12 weeks, and that seems ages away!!

There's no such thing as a false positive. You're pregnant!!! Congratulations!

P.S. Clearblue can detect a pregnancy earlier than the cheaper brands which is why the other brands have given negative results.

First of all, congratulations!!!!! No, I bought cheap internet strips and got positives. I wonder what the sensitivity of the tests you bought? If they were not as sensitive at measuring HSG then that could be why. Again, congrats!

I would buy another test to be sure. I had a friend go through a whole weekend of thinking she was pregnant when she wasn't thanks to Clear Blue. I like First Response. Also try 1st pee in the morning so that your hcg levels are the highest. You will have the most accurate test that way.

congrads!, you are prego!, your hormone level might not have been high enough. you dont get false postives.. i know lots of women that have taken dollar store one's and they worked just as good as the others that cost more.. best of luck to you and little baking baby.

If I saw a positive I would take it im pregnant, go buy another 1 if you really want to make sure but it doesn't have to be clearblue you can get a cheaper one like 'first response' I find them to be the best, used them with all 3 of my pregnancies

i would do another test just to be sure but i would sat that you are pregnant! congratulations

the cheap ones worked for me even thought i am only about 4/5 wks prgnant this is my third and ive used them on all of them
