Anyone else have a job standing while pregnant?

I am just about 5 months and we need extra money for all the baby stuff, Christmas, ect. I obtained a cashier job at Target, working part-time. My shifts will be 5 hours on week nights and 8 hours on weekends for a total of 25-30 hours. At first, I thought I might have to deal w/ a little swelling. However, I am more worried now about the risk of premature labor ect. after reading some websites. I havent told them I am pregnant yet, but will in the next few weeks (Its my first and I am a little overweight, so its easy to hide at this point) My previous two jobs were sitting, so I havent been on my feet in a long time. The temp agency thing and work at home isnt working right now. I only plan to do this until the first of November, but still need the money. Anyone else in the same situation -or- how did you survive your standing job while pregnant?

  1. I work at a grocery store. Been there over a year. Its my first job. I'm 17 and 26 weeks pregnant and I'm just starting to have trouble. Dizziness and always feeling over heated. Plus stupid people dont usually pay attention to whether your pregnant or not so don't let them make you lift heavy stuff. I'm trying to get into the post office at least until I come back from summer leave. When you tell them, ask them if theres another job available that you wouldn't have to be on your feet, because trust me, its hard to do even 4 hours. Good luck!
