Anyone else have serious doubts about alleged global warming?

wouldn't it more credible if it were just (or mainly) scientists that were telling us about it, instead of politicians? And do the politicians just look silly and invite more cynicism by flying themselves half way round the world to have yet more talks about the subject?

The scientists who express doubts about the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis have been systematically excluded from committees, advisory panels, international conferences and mainstream media in an effort to maintain the fiction that there is consensus among scientists.

An example is Dr David Bellamy, a well know academic and TV botanist in UK, expressed doubts about the AGW, and was subjected to a smear campaign in the press and threatened with violence by political activists, he announced that he is withdrawing from the debate.

I am an Ecologist with 30+years experience, and have worked with the Arctic Research Institute in St Petersburg, and among the Russian academicians the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis is not considered to be correct, yet no publicity is given to this fact in the west.

We could start with - what have they got right so far? A big fat zero! This weather pattern is just that - a pattern and has been repeated many times. David Bellamy is correct. The earth will protect it self and we may not like what happens but eventually things will settle down again.

problem is, politicians are in the "popular" news.

scientists are not.

do you read scientific/environmental journals? they're full of articles on global warming. you just don't read them...

so politicians in the mass media are the ones that get heard.

and the mass media only publishes things they want to.

very few politicians actually act on global warming - all they say is "oh dear,we should do something" but if they actually pushed to get something done, they wouldn't get elected.

the fact is, sustainable, responsible living is not popular. it requires some effort, and telling voters that they're going to actually have to do something for themselves is not going to get you elected (your attitude demonstrates this).

in my opinion, politicians should talk about it A LOT MORE.

the media should put it on the front page a  lot more. the public should actually care about the future of our earth, when we have no possibility of moving planet if we mess it up.

i think you are a bit silly to be cynical, much better just to reuse things and recycle, reduce waste and be more economical. walk instead of drive, go on fewer holidays on a plane, turn off the lights.

A few years ago a news programme showed unusual activity on the surface of the sun, with sunspots & flares, the item also stated that scientists predicted that this will cause unusual weather patterns on Earth.  We were also told a few years ago that there were holes in the ozone would take decades to recover only to be told not long after that by and large the ozone layer had recovered.  Does anyone remember being told during the last severe national drought  that the water table would take ages if ever to recover then within 2 years it was back to normal and we had floods?  I think it is very likley a natural cycle for the Earth to warm and cool, after all it's been occouring for millions of years

Global warming Is made up by the major Governments of this world because we are running out of natural resources and they have failed to plan for this by finding alternate energy sources which can deal with the growing economy.  So In order to slow our energy consumption's down until they can get their nuclear plant's, wind farms, wave stations etc etc up and running, they tell us what Is without a doubt 1 of the biggest lies we've ever been told.

I have always doubted it and will until I'm proven right.   These are the same experts who just 25 years ago were screaming  It will be another Ice Age.  They literally switched screams over a one month period.   They also said the oceans would be lifeless boiling seas by 1990.

I believe the planet is going through a cyclical rise in temperature. Not anything to do with carbon whatsoever. It's a great scam on the behalf of the highly imaginative revenue generators. They haven't yet found a way to tax us for breathing, but at least they've found a way to charge us for one atmospheric gas!

Yes, I doubt Global Warming is real. I think Politicians always wanna look like they actually care about the environment. They don't really. I think Global Warming is just something scientists made up to make people want to be good to the Earth. Which I do believe in. A better, healthier world is always good.

I don't.  Just don't listen to the politicians, and only listen to the scientists.

How about:

The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.  EVERY major scientific organization.

They all say global warming is real and mostly caused by us.

A survey of scientific papers of the years 1994-2003 covered every paper with "climate change" in the abstract.  There were 900plus.  NONE said global warming was a natural thing.

Some here will quote this or that "skeptic".  There are a few, just like there are a few scientists that claim the Earth is 6000 years old.  But this is still true:

I have doubts.

One of the big subjects is ice melting. OK, good, but ice is developing in other areas also. That does not get adequate attention. Ice moves like water. Every time a glacier 'calves' there's a camera present to record the effects of agw. Not mentioned is the fact that ice is building up elsewhere. It's all part of nature. It's been going on forever.

The problem for the scientists is that if they don't tow the 'global warming' line then their funding is either stopped or drastically reduced.  I suspect that the whole 'global warming' agenda is probably designed to get money out of us some way.  No scientists can tell the truth about GW because it will destroy their research and/or career.  GW is probably because the sun is going through a hot cycle, which it does, apparently.  Mars is also experiencing exactly the same levels of atmospheric temperature increases.

I agree that we need to hear more from the scientists.  If there is global warming its really possible that this happens naturally, cyclically, over millenia.  Maybe this is normal for the earth to warm up, then cool down (Ice Ages).  Maybe it has to do with volcanic acitivity.  Yeah, I'd like more science.

I am more worried about the general public attitude ,that is being promoted at the moment ,that nothing is wrong and that Humanity is not responsible

Global Warming is true, there are Natural fazes but we are affecting that to a great extent ,with deforestation ,desertification and pollution., especially air pollution.

A few weeks ago one of NASA's top scientists concluded that the Arctic Ocean could be nearly ice-free within five years, much faster than all previous predictions.

when the north pole is gone , you may have polar bears soon in America ,looking for a home ,

Calculations do not include the accumulative ,speeding up ,factor with time. the increase in water temperature will get faster all the time as well as the melting, when the ice is all gone the deeper cold Ocean currents will be drastically affected,which in turn will affect the warm currents,since all moving bodies of water are connected in series.

This will affect coastal climates ,world wide ,almost instantly. All aquatic flora and fauna will be affected,many dying off and others becoming invasive,

And recently In Chiapas ,and Tabasco in Mexico .more then a million people became homeless overnight with water coming up to their roofs ,because of rains from super evaporation from the forests,this had never happened before. Millions of animals died.

In India 3000 people died because of super storms .

.A few years ago in Europe 3500 people,died during a heat wave ,many of them in France .

Right now the average death toll annually is 150.000 due to Global warming

. these figures are already out of date and are expected to double soon.

In Northern China millions of people are running for their lives because regular dust storms so far have buried 900 villages under the sand and the whole of northern China is turning into a dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year all around the edges ,like a slow burning fire shriveling up their neighbors In the Kalahari huge rivers have dried up and thousand of species are gone due to their habitats disappearing .

The biggest changes are invisible at micro biotic levels species are becoming extinct ,others are multiplying ,

This affects the insect populations that follow ,and changes in that ,affect all that follows in the food chains ,

All life is interrelated of both flora and fauna, And since we are on the top of the food chain ,

we are always the last to know.

So Global warming has its toll there are incidents all over the world ,

However

confusion rules the day ,i am beginning to think that SCIENCE HAS BEEN INVADED WITH POLITICS AND HUMAN EMOTIONS

The truth is being distorted at high levels,

And lies have been weaved in.

Some of the real dangers are being hidden because there are no solutions , Public could panic.and Authorities would loose control .

Besides Corporations have other priorities and changes will cause loss of profits ,this also affects the truths being published

Others facts are exaggerated so that the phenomena can be used to milk the people.

This is further complicated with Arrogance that will not admit that mankind could be guilty, or that Gods could be out of control ,unloving or incompetent

But I do not think we can make a real difference anymore to change the tide.

On a Global scale,Humanity is not co operative enough .

The poor regions have other priorities such as daily survival.

There is a lot we can do about being more responsible with what we got ,

In the first world countries many do not care or are more interested in Global Control than Global Warming.
