My husband will always suggest names of girls he used to date for girl names. Not only is this annoying, but most of them really suck. I don't want to name our daughter after someone he used to date, but it is hard because he was kinda a man w***e so you name her, he has dated her!

  1. Yes!  When you ask men to think of "pretty girl names," they seem to think you're asking them to think of names of pretty girls they've known.

I was in a relationship with someone for a while (long enough that we had started discussing possible baby names) who seemed addicted to horrible 80's names for girls.  He liked Tiffany, Jessica, Melissa, Amber, and all sorts of other outdated names.  I think it was because he had known lots of pretty Tiffany's and Jessica's.

Women are so much more creative when it comes to baby names!  I'm sure you'll be able to find something, though.  There are tons of names that are popular now that wouldn't have been popular when your husband's ex-girlfriends were born (like Arianna, Isabella, Madeleine, Chloe, and Piper).  There are also old classics that haven't been common in years (like Clara, Cecelia, Arabella, and Evangeline).  You might want to consider foreign names, like Eloise or Zara.  You could even go the exotic mythological route -- I bet he's never met a Guinevere or an Ariadne.

Good luck, and I hope this helps!

  2. ;-c  Well have him suggest a friend of his Mother's names!! Or a friend from his childhood's sister's names !?!   Ha Ha Ha Give the guy  a break !! It seems that you might have him feeling that any of his X's names you just wo'nt except !?! ... some of them might've had cute sounding names !?! do'nt let that be the reason that you wo'nt use it !! now just two of some X g/f's I've had I might use for a new born female child !! mainly because they are exotic sounding to me !?! -[Anissa<-(ah'.Knee`.Sah} & TK<-- my FIRST !!  uh`mm g/f !! ;-D  the "T" stood for Tahir`a` ... <Tah;'Hear,'Ra,h,`> =(Rah)= I later learned was the name for the Egyptian SUN GOD!?! G/L~!!! . r R r Oh.'& no I'd pick a name because "I" felt it to be pretty,cute,-&- or dIffErEnT/unique sounding !!.

  3. I didn't have that problem, although my husband was also a man-w***e.  ;-)

My suggestion - pick a name from your family or his, preferably an older female relative's name, like his grandmother's or an aunt's.  That will keep the name from being a tribute to some ex-girlfriend of his.

  4. how about the name blayke for a girl not many of those

  5. why dont you buy a baby name book and let him cross out the names in it of the girls that he has dated then you can look at the remaining names and go from there on naming your child. i hope i helped!

    good luck:]

  6. Choose a name you like or try combining your name & his name even if you name your child after a girl he dated remember you'rr the one he chose
