Question:

Anyone else have this problem with beer?

It's not a problem with the beer itself but with the carbonation.. I can't burp on purpose so if I drink beer (even just 3) too quickly it just builds up in my stomach and I need to "throw up" except it comes out as just air. Essentially one huge burp. Embarrassing I know.

Has this happened to anyone else?? How do I stop it?

  1. The same as the other,  wine or liquor (no carbonated mixers).  Either that or drink slower.  Some beers are as gassy as others,  you might try those as well (Guiness is less bubbly)


  2. I already found many questions about the burp with beer in Yahoo-JP. Some of them have the same problem as you, and others have the opposite problem like too much burps just after drinking beer. One of good ways for your type of person is to pound the stomach softly, or expand your chest and swallow air as much as possible. You may burp naturally and can take more beer.

  3. try taking a 'preemptive' tums or something similar before drinking...

    I don't have that problem, I can make myself burp on cue (attractive for a girl, yes?)  try swallowing some air, it will help push it out.  If you feel it coming, try to go to the bathroom so no one sees you doing it... and don't tell them you have to puke... just say you have to pee.

    maybe let the can hang out for a while before you drink it, that way it goes a little flat so less bubbles will get into your stomach.

  4. I have that same problem... that's why I don't drink beer.. I only drink vodka.. and wine... and no problem with neither... and it doesn't taste bad... hah I don't like beer.. really

  5. Beer should be enjoyed not guzzled, try slowing the pace down

  6. Try chewing mint gum when drinking beer. Supposedly mint reduces gas. But just in case thats a rumor, at least you wont reek of beer when the stater pulls you over.

  11. That could come from any number of things such as, your style of dress to your eating habits earlier that day before you took a drink.  Also, do you smoke?  Bodies tend to react differently while trying to rid itself of the toxins and gases that can build up after a drink or two.
