Question:

Anyone else having problems with HUMANA?

My mother was dropped from their system due to a computer glitch. After re-enlisting they raised her monthly premium because she had been without coverage. Even though they admitted that it was their fault. I turned in all of her out of pocket expenses while whe was without coverage and they haven't reimbursed us on that either. It's been 10 months. I have called, and called and called.......

  1. Definitely call the Department of Insurance in your state. Some states allow you to submit your complaints online, and then they will start to contact your directly for more information. I would gather all the facts, dates, names of people you talked to, etc. The more info you have, the better your case will be presented. It may take a little while, but if Humana was at fault, this needs to be resolved. As stated by another, any insurance company does not like to deal with a State Ins Dept, who will mediate between the two of you. Good Luck!


  2. Send the Better Business Bureau a nice little complaint and tell them that Humana is not helping you in resolving your issue with the coverage.

Don't bother with the Better Business Bureau.  It's powerless to do anything to help you.  Rather, contact the agency in your state which regulates insurance firms doing business there.  Be prepared to be fully documented with your complaint.  If you are correct in your stance, Humana will respond rapidly.

    They don't want state insurance commissions on their backs.
