Question:

Anyone else notice the overwhelming hatred of America on here?

It's almost hilarious. It seems anytime USA, America or The Untied States is used in an answer there are going to be at least 4 thumbs down. I'm mean, it's not even their answer. It just the fact that they aren't using America's name in a negative way. Now I'm not ignorant enough to think that everyone likes us, but can't we at least say our country's name with out being booed?

  1. Yeah, I've noticed.

  2. Its mainly due to american media...and other ppl not knowing the full details to why we go to war here etc...most other countries think america is a bully ....yes it you look at INTERPOL and things like that we have lots of influence but we dont solely CONTROL IT...and as far as american media....s*x sells,,,,drama sells,,, and violence sells...so that is what you see here and most foreigners look at american films as the truth not just acting...for example...i said something that i didnt like about my country...he believed we are not allowed to speak against our country so he thought (IM SERIOUS) they they would do me like they did will smith on enemy of the state....i had to convince him for the longest time that was only a movie!!!!...he was from india...so the thing causing this is not being able to distinguish fact from fiction in american culture

  3. Yeah, I have noticed that. Most of it, I think, anyway, is unwarranted. It's not just answers, I see many, many questions that show the U.S.A in a negative light.

So, why? Do they think we eat kittens or something? I think it's one of Yahoo! Answers Seven Wonders of the World, but still...Well, I think that they might have met a rude American in their lifetime and assumed that all of us were like that, but that's pretty racist right there. Perhaps they are jealous of our country? That's probable, but I always wondered how obscenely horrible your country must be if you have a computer, internet connection, and are viewing Yahoo! Answers of all places.

Speaking of racism, did you notice that when an American asks questions like yours or when they say "Do you think such-and-such nationality is like this?" they get thousands of "answers" that say "racist!" Yet when people ask these things of the US suddenly everyone gets along and thinks the U.S.A is the worst country full of the worst people ever to have existed. It doesn't make sense. In fact, one of your answers screams at you and calls you racist to the Mexicans and Latinos, but you never mentioned anything like that in your question.

I'd like it if I could mention America without getting fifteen thumbs down, but, with all the America-haters on here, that obviously won't happen. I don't think America is the best place to live, but I think it is in the Top three. I'm not that naive, I can tell that no matter how many times I say that America's good deeds outweigh the bad ones those people probably won't listen. I'm all for other's opinions, but that's a bit harsh.

Maybe it's Bush, maybe it's the colors of our flag. Whatever it is, some people hate the U.S.A, and they obviously won't change their mind anytime soon.

  4. Our image sucks because we have Bush as a president. It will get better once Obama is president.

  5. Well you guys better stop stereotyping other races first most especially on Latinos/Hispanics & Asians.

  6. I couldn't give a d**n if people don't like us. I've lived here since I was 12 and I don't care what downsides it has, it's still the greatest place to live, and people know it, jealousy is ugly..

Long live America (the beautiful) =D

  7. I haven't noticed that on here.  Other places, yes.  I would never be naive enough to say that America has done nothing but good in our 250 year existence, however, everything we've done hasn't been bad either.  If the naysayers don't want to recognize that and insist on booing us all the time, let them.  That won't stop this country from being, in my opinion, the greatest one ever and the only one I care to call home.

I thought people liked us, Americans.  Maybe not our government but then we have problems with our own government too.  But, doesn't everyone?

  8. I take it as an opportunity to look inward and acknowledge the faults of my country- become more critical, if you will. people looking in from the outside often have a much better idea of what is actually transpiring, and I welcome their opinions.
