Anyone else offended by McDonalds' new campaign?

The one featuring the people of African descent discussing the HOME COOKED taste of a FRIED CHICKEN sandwich.

If it matters, I'm white and generally considered hypersensitive, but for God's sake, how did that ever get aired?

  1. well, because black people cook better chicken.  i'm a darn good cook, but my grandma (adopted grandma) who was black, use to make the best darn chicken in the WORLD!  They know man. . they know.  And they know how to have good times and how to LOOSEN UP unlike you. : )

  2. I don't know if you'd noticed, but Wal-Mart did the same thing earlier this year. First, they advertised that you could cash your stimulus check for free with a black woman pitching. Then, they did it with a barbecue with all blacks and Earth, Wind & Fire playing in the background--like that's all black people do is wait on government funds and use them to barbecue!!! Am I reading too much into this?

  3. I think it is offending. The truth of the matter is yea black people are known for cooking chicken, BUT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO COOK AND EAT IT. McDonald's is considered a white company and they make chicken so why do they need to put black people on to advertise there chicken. McDonald's is supposed to be a family friendly environment and what they are doing is racial profiling. So yes im offended. And not that you say it i don't know how it got aired either.

  4. its just a commercial

the reason is cuz its a southern style chicken

and many ppl of african descent r frm the south

  5. Didn't see it.

  6. Get over it.

  7. If you find that offensive, hows this, they support g*y groups financially as well. Boycott McDonalds.

  8. Welcome to the United States of the Offended.  Do us all a favor and get over it...

  9. well, it's a bland, over-priced, not-even-close to southern sandwich (gimme a big mac or BEC biscuit or nothing from mcd's)

as to the question, i do find the commercial embarrasingly stupid, but not offensive- i'm a white dude who has black friends (not the black guy at the bank or something, real friends, in my home, their home, and we joke about this kind of pandering c**p)

i think in general people get offended on behalf of other people when they really oughtta laugh it off. the REALLY bad mcd's commercial is the 'go for the gold!" one that shows all the olympians holding that sandwich like it was a grease covered hairball.

reminds me of Krusty taking a bite of his burger, then saying, "oh, God, i think some of the juice went down my throat...i'll be tasting that for weeks"

  10. I'm a little disturbed by the commercials, especially the one talking about their new chicken biscuit.  They are really trying their hardest to associate themselves with the Olympics by having athletes hold up the chicken sandwich and talking about going for the gold.  It just sounds foolish.

This one, talking about change and not conforming...by having "Southern Style" chicken biscuits for breakfast.  I've had chicken biscuits for breakfast my whole life, what a joke.

  11. Yeah I didn't notice, I've only seen those commercials with people of Every color.

  12. "Lighten up, Francis."

  13. I am not offended...in fact I didn't even notice.  Perhaps people are beginning to get back to the idea that just because something is on TV or in print does not mean that it has an intentional double meaning.  Stop looking for hidden agendas and try taking things at face value!  It's a way to have a happier outlook on life!
