Anyone else on Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas August 3-10?

I'm going with my dad, his girlfriend, and a bunch of her family. My issue is that I'm afraid I'm not going to find anyone to hang out with :/ I'm 14 but I'm used to hanging out with people who are a year or two older, so I don't think I'm going to fit in well with the 12-14 year old group I'm going to end up being put with. Has anyone else had luck in being moved up to the 15-17 year old group, or at least finding other, better ways to meet people? Thanks :)

  1. You can definitely move up to the 15 year old group.  You can either say you're not comforatble with the 12-14 year olds are tell them you're fifteen.

I have cruised before with teens and one moved up no problem.

  2. CruiseCritic.com has "Roll Call" boards for sailings of the various ships.  Click on "Boards", then go to the "Roll Call" board, find Royal Caribbean and then MOS then your sailing.

You have to join CC in order to see the roll call boards, but it's free.

There will be plenty of other kids your age on the ship.  Go to the first meeting of the teen club.  From what I've read, they're pretty strict with the age groupings, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

  3. okay. well i went with my friends family and she had just turned 15 and i am born a couple months later than her and im 14 . welll they have a list of whom is 14 and 15 and all ages so what you will have to do is have a parent go down to the fuel with you and tell them that they approve and then the people will give you a sticker and you will be allowed to go in whenever for the rest of the cruise. it is a pain but deffinitly worth it

  4. I have cruised on the Mariner and it has an area of the ship called Adventure Ocean that is just for kids and in that area is a place called FUEL  that is a teen disco just for teens.  That's where you can go to meet teens and hand out.  If you just go to the Adventure Ocean area and to Fuel and hang out talking to the person who is in charge others will show up and that's how you will meet them.  The teen club director will help you meet others.
