Anyone else see a slight irony in this?

This could have been taken the wrong way...

An old advertisement for Ariston washing machines in the 80s stated "5 million Germans can't be wrong".

Does anyone else think that was somewhat untrue, looking back over 20th century history??

  1. What like considering how many of them were brainwashed by Hitler? The worlds greatest leader?

Yes ~ a bit ill informed.

  2. Silly argument, by the way.

If you go just a little further in this reasoning, you'll arrive at "Eat sh|t, billions of flies cannot be wrong".

    (No offence to Germans.)

  3. Ha ha!

  4. I've heard this statement for a lot of people and part of being human is being wrong.  So it is no more ironic than saying 5 million people can't be wrong.

  5. I have no idea of the quality of Ariston washing machines, but have you ever heard the saying "A PERSON is smart, PEOPLE are dumb"? In honesty, I'm inclined to think that the masses get it wrong all the time. It's the free and independent thinkers who are usually on the ball.

  6. I see the irony. Even more ironic is that there are persons who deny that the Holocaust even happened.
