Anyone else think Palin's daughter needs a break and privacy?

Okay, is anyone else getting irritated with the whole Palin's daughter ordeal?! Give the poor girl a break. As a girl who also got pregnant at seventeen, it was hard enough to walk down the hall at high school. I can't imagine how it must feel to have to whole COUNTRY know. But, I, like her daughter, chose to keep my baby. Best decison of my life. I got married and went to college and got a degree. Life isn't over for the girl. I was raised in a devout Christian home. I knew what was right. That's why this c**p about it being her parents fault. No, no, no. It's called free will. You can tell your kids alllll day what is right and wrong. But at the end of the day, it's up to them what they do with it. Palin's daughter needs privacy. She's scared enough as it is. It's hard being a mom. It's even harder being a 17 year old mom. Kudos to Palin's daughter for taking a tough situation and doing what she feels is right for her family. Anyone else think the girl needs a break?

  1. nope

If it was any Dem, there would be hourly updates on Fox

  2. Yes

The American hating leftists will sink as low as it takes, even slinging mud at candidate family members

  3. I agree with most of the posters. What kind of Mother puts her child in this position. This is not about her daughter, this is about her as a Mother, Wife, Christian and possible Vice President of the United states. She brought this on her daughter. And now they're running around lying about liberal bloggers posting nasty things and how they had to release the info because of all the rumors. I read tons, tons of blogs a day and never once saw mention of this before the McCain campaign broke it today. I even went on a search as soon as it came out looking for all the nasty posts, ready to be appalled and ashamed, but I found nothing. Nothing except for the Republican blogs bashing us, the Christians heralding how brave Bristol was for keeping the baby and the celebrity type blogs repeating the McCain announcement about the evil democrats.

And what's with the "they're planning on getting married"? What are they waiting for? Why aren't they married already? In any case, I'm sure that Bristol and Levi won't be scrounging to pay for diapers or formula and won't be living in a trailer park. Actually, where will she be living? The White House? Is Sarah Palin going to leave her daughter and new baby back in Alaska. Oh yeah, great Mom - great Family Values.

One last thing. Bristol is not a hero and is not brave for keeping this child. It was the right thing to do as a Christian. The republicans are spinning this. They needed to move the spotlight off of Sarah, and Sarah allowed it. She allowed them to move the spotlight off of herself and shine it right on her daughter. Threw her daughter right under the bus.

  4. I don't feel bad for her.

    It's called a condom.

  5. Yes, leave the girl alone.

  6. I hear you!

  7. No, why attack Obama's family, but not Palins?

  8. I agree.

But, that is also something Palin should have considered before accepting the nom.  She's the mother.  Why didn't she consider her own daughter's welfare?

Palin is the one who put her daughter in the national spotlight.  If she had politely said "No" to the VP now, we wouldn't even know about this, let alone care.

ETA:  You're right.  I wouldn't stop loving her.  And I would prove it by not making her the subject of a media storm.  I don't blame Bristol.  I blame Sarah Palin.

  9. I want to know where is the outrage over teenage pregnancy? I understand that people make mistakes.  Teenagers who get pregnant used to be shunned and sent away to have the baby.  It used to be considered a sin to have a baby out of wedlock.  I am not saying that we should not have compassion but too many young girls are not ashamed and therefore go out and keep on having babies out of wedlock. The whole of American society has accepted this as normal.

  10. This is about the only place where it is a big deal.

  11. Even Obama said Palin's daughter should be off-limits for any smear campaign against McCain and her.  Apparently, no one's listening since it is all over the news and everyone is using it as an excuse to why she can't be the VP.

When will we just stick to what they want to do with the country instead of what their family members do on their off time?

  12. What she needs is to go back in time and get on the pill, or use a condom, or learn about safe s*x in general....

abstinence only s*x ed FAILS children, it's dangerous, and it's irresponsible.

  13. Yes I do think she needs her privacy, especially a stop to critical remarks about the difficult decisions they have made and will no doubt get through.

My mother became pregnant with me at 17 and 5 months later married my father.  35 years later, they are still happily married.  No one knows all the circumstances and is not in a position to asses this but the family.

  14. I agree but I doubt she is going to get it that just comes with being in the public eye or being a child of someone in the public eye. Perhaps Sarah should have consider this before she accepted the VP position. Other than people in Alaska barely anyone even knew who Sarah Plain was last week.

  15. Sadly, it was Sarah Palin herself who put her daughter in the position that she's currently in--at the center of controversy on a national stage.

Palin never should've accepted the nomination. In doing so, she's denied her daughter the privacy she deserves.

  16. I really respect you for taking responsibility and raising above your situation and making something of your self and your child.  I am not sure I could have done the same.  Kudos to you!

  17. it's palin and her role as a mother that's being questioned..no one's attacking her daughter, but a woman who claims to be strong on family values should be able to exhibit it in her own household.

she's running for VICE PRESIDENT, for crying out loud!

  18. I don't believe Palin's family has anything to do with the election. It's just the media bringing controversy into the election.

  19. Bristol needs a break and needs to be kept out of it.  Her mother Sarah does not.  Sarah is the reason her daughter is pregnant, she doesn't believe in birth control.  Sarah is the one who was parading her children around in the first place.  Sarah is condoning teenage s*x and teenage motherhood.  This VP candidate is a hypocrite.

  20. The press has moved on.  Now its about her AIP membership and her desire just 2 years ago to have Alaska suceed from the union!  Don't worry, with all the skeletons falling out of her closet no one will care about the daughter's pregnancy in a few days.

(Incidentally, Palin is a strong believer in teaching teens abstinence and not giving them condoms.  Doesn't seem to have worked for her family.)

  21. Well, Bristol did what she did just like thousands of kids do in the U.S. and people are making a huge thing out of it. Most of the liberal talking heads think that she and her mother Sarah should be shunned.

They say she's a bad role model. I say, what kind of a role model or mother would she be if she treated her daughter like c**p, or threw her and her child out of the house like hundreds of parents have done before?

Sarah Palin handled this situation with total class.

  22. Blame her Mother. She is the one who put all of this on the front page.

She should have said 'no' to McCain and kept her family business private.

  23. NO, she does not need one.  Who is giving Palin's daughter a hard time?  The majority of the time her name appears in YA it's Republicans claiming she is being treated unfairly.  By who?

My issue is that Palin is an extremist radical who wants to take science teaching time to discuss private religious theory and promotes an extremist social agenda.  I want nothing to do with her or her tin foil hat views.

Her daughter has nothing to do with it.

  24. Maybe Palin shouldn't have entered the Presidential election then.

Please.....as if in this day and age the press is going to ignore a story like this, especially when it contrasts so clearly with her bizarre extremist views against contraception and for abstinence only s*x education.

Palin brought this on herself and her family.   If she wanted to protect her kids, she should have turned down the offer to run.   I'm sure McCain would be a lot happier, right now, if she had.
