And it's not a Dems vs.  Reps  Issue.  Both parties are guilty of making the government bigger.

Yes and we started that with welfare reform.  If you think we should downsize and not take care of our military,  NO!!!

Yes, we need to downsize Congress by firing every congressman (woman) and re-electing every 4 years.  I feel with term limits, these Senators & Representatives would not become too corrupt and beholden to "special" interest groups.  Each state should be allowed 1 Senator (Rep or Dem), and 1 House Representative (Rep or Dem).  That would save tax payers mega bucks in retirement benefits, and they need to be invested in the failed ss program like the American ppl are with the same health care.  This will never been done because they feel they are the elite of America.

Although downsizing is important i think that the government should step in and help people that are in need. For example because of the fall in the housing market, some are asking for a government tax break much like the stimulus check we recieved to boost our economy, but instead of going to everyone it would be just for people directly affected by the housing market drop, anyone else think thats ridiculous, how come we continue to make the rich richer and the poor poorer? I think that the government needs to be involved in health care for children and teenagers under 18 which in my opinion should be free, the welfare system could and will work if a NEW system is put forth, just because some abuse the system a lot of good does come from it, and might i just add to the comment below, its not the 'women's" problem and it is extremely ignorant to blame it them, i am assuming you are speaking of a certain Nancy P which i agree should be let go but it shouldnt give all of us women a bad rep.
