Anyone else think that the design for the James Webb Space Telescope was taken from Star Wars?

take a look at an Imperial II Star Destroyer from Star Wars:

  1. One cannot be an astronomer/astrophysicist without being at least a teeny bit nerdy. I wouldn;t be surprised if it was a subconcious thing...

  3. Could it be that the Star Wars people just spacified an early 20th century battleship?  I see a bridge, a clear forward deck, a wide beam to absorb broadside recoil and the "old grey funnel line" colour.
