Well they kept everyone.

Joe Johnson

Josh Smith-amazing player will still continue to get better

Al Horford-prob will be the next Dwight Howard. Just not as powerful.

Marvin Williams-great role player who can get 40 points a game every so often

Mike Bibby-a very good pg. Not an elite pg but a good one. Could start on any other team except the suns, jazz and hornets.

they are not really that deep off the bench, but really who is.

I think they can win there division. Possibly have the 3rd or 4th seed.

  1. Nope.  They're pretty good, but they have to get past the Celtics, the Cavaliers, the Pistons, Miami, Toronto, Knicks / Nets (maybe?), Orlando...and that's just the East.  Forget about the west.  Top eight of course, but definitely not top 3 or 4 (yeah they almost beat the Celtics, but they gotta learn to beat someone on their own floor in order to win just as the Lakers, San Antonio and the Pistons learned to do).

  2. Im sorry, but are you saying the Hawks are better than the Magic?  I dont think the Hawks even have a chance in  their divison.  The Wizards are still better than Atlanta.  Miami and bobcats are two teams that will improve next season.

Their starting lineup looks great, but who do they turn to in the 2nd period?  yes, you did point out that they have no bench, and no, you're wrong, there are many teams who actually have a good bench.

And the Hawks did lose Josh Childress.  And dont you dare say josh wasnt a good player.  He could avg. 10 points, 6 boards, 1 steal, 1 block and shoot solid percentages from the line and from the field.

No way for a top 4 seed, i would be happy to be in teh playoffs.

Tell me, who did the HAwks add during the offseason that will all of a sudden change a 37 win team into a divison winnner?

I recognize that they have improved jurrasically last year, but they still havent done enough to improve overall, to actually be in the divison talk.

EDIT: Oh btw(hate to beat on a corpse rite now), Bibby wouldnt be starting for everyone except those 3 teams.  Hwo bout Spuurs, Sixers, Dallas, Wizards, Detroit, Clippers

  3. You know what im saying that Hawks wont make the playoffs and the Bucks get that last spot..

    1.Boston

    8.Bucks

    4.Pistons

    5.76ers

    3.LeBron James

    6.Toronto

    7.Wizards

    2.Orlando

    East Playoffs

  4. Nope your the only one!!

They are the Clippers of the east coast!!

  5. Why would they be?They were the 8th seed last year in the weak East. Now,they kept the same players and haven't done anything new yet.

  6. No way, I don't think they'll make the playoffs. I could see the Bulls, Bucks, Heat, or even the Knicks making the 8th seed over the Hawks.

  7. U got a very good team but ill give dem 1 more year of experience b4 i say that they gonna be a 4th seed. i c dem wit maybe a 7th seed and they'll get better from there

  8. i'd like to say that but i think its highly unlikely. losing josh childress is obviously one of them but also the fact that there are other teams much better than the hawks in the east right. a couple i can think of are celtics, magic, pistons, cavs, raptors, 76ers. maybe they might get the 6 or 7th seed but i just dont see them being near the top of the east.

if you remember last year, they fought to the last week of the nba season for that final playoff spot so it was tough for them. this season they are the same team without childress so i cant see them doing better than last year.

  9. heck yeah, the hawks are going to dominate.  we are going all the way this year

  10. as long as they keep toews they'll make the playoffs.

  11. "Al Horford-prob will be the next Dwight Howard. Just not as powerful."

Funniest thing i've heard in awhile...

  12. No they won't be a top 4 seed. In fact IF they even make the playoffs they'll be an 8th seed but even that's a stretch. Many other teams in the East have gotten better like the Bucks, Heat, 76ers, Toronto, Chicago and New jersey. It's going to be very hard for Atlanta to beat out those teams when they haven't made any improvemnets and actually lost a key bench playe in Childress.

  13. Hahaha thanks for the laugh. Atlanta did nothing this off-season.

"Al Horford-prob will be the next Dwight Howard. Just not as powerful." thanks for the joke man.

this whole topic is a joke.

  14. they lost Childress to Olympiakos, and he was key to their playoff run since he helped the offense and defense flow without missing a beat if Joe Johnson or Marvin Williams were taking a rest.  The best teams in the East and West all have a solid, if not deep bench, and the Hawks don't have a very good bench as opposed to their starting five.  They are a playoff contender this year, but it is doubtful that they will be a 3rd or 4th seed given that the Magic and the Wizards are in their division, and both the Magic and the Wizards have the potential to be in the top 3 seeds themselves, though Orlando seems more likely.
