Both series should of be over before the weekend. I know I will get a wide array of answers but it does make sense if you think about it.

  1. No

  2. Detroit didn't deserve to win Game 4.  They got horribly outplayed.  Even if the refs made a horrible call.  They played horribly.

If anyone told the Wings to lose a game, it was probably Franzen so it gives him more time to get ready.  Fine with me.

As for the Penguins,  the Flyers played for there season in game 4.  They put all there hearts into it.  I missed game 5, but it sounds like Pittsburgh just wouldn't go down.

  3. You're right!   They are probably responsible for telling Anaheim and San Jose to lose their series to Dallas as well!

  4. no. i think pitt lost so their last game would be a home game

  5. No I think the NHL told the refs to throw a game though. They threw game 4 from both series.

  6. Thats stupid, It sounds like a question from someone that has nothing intelligent to say about the sport, so they speak nonsense...

  7. well i think the penguins in game four vs. the rangers they did not try for 2 reasons.  1 if the penguins go back to mellon arena thats like 2 million dollars worth of tickets merchandise and food!!!  Also what you said could have some effect here.

    the wings... no.

  8. I'm pretty sure that they had the games scheduled for sat and sun regardless of how long their series went on for!

  9. Professional sports may be a bit dirty, but not that bad

  10. How did you know?

  11. sure, why not.

I heard it was Gary himself who called down to the ice and told Oz and Fleury to let a few in.

I mean, who can argue... both the Flyers and Stars were HORRIBLE up until that 4th MIRACLE game they both won.

And you'll jinx your favorite team if you give me a thumbs down ... you wouldn't want to jinx your RWs or Pens would you?

    :)

  12. No.  First of all, to try to pull it off would be almost impossible.  Unless a referee makes a call so blantently false that it would have to be investigated, the subtleties of the games make it not possible.  Even the Holmstrom "butt in the crease" call - easily the worst of the playoffs, didn't cost them the game.

Second, the number of people who would have to be in on it is huge, and the danger (and consequences) of discovery make it not worth the risk, to anyone.

By the way - if you look back in NHL history, it is not at all unusual for the team down 0-3, when playing at home for game 4, to win it.  I cannot give you stats (LITY?  Anyone?) but it happens year-after-year.  That's why it takes 4 to win, and not three, becuase there's still life.
