it's always interrupted by sports, or presidential c**p or special news reports or weather, it's getting old! the only soaps i watch are young and restless and bold & the beautiful but they aren't on alot because of these other stupid things interrupting them. it just makes me angry! there's nothing else to watch in the daytime

  1. If I watched Y&R on CBS yes. That is why I watch the GLOBAL episode.

If it gets interrrupted I can always catch it the next day on CBS.

  2. I laugh when they postpone the soaps for sports, becuase mostly the men are at work, and I turn the TV off !

Then later I go to CBS.com, who, bless their hearts, run their episodes on there, so try that out:

Go to the very top band and click on the VIDEO link-------

( you can get B&B in only 19 minutes!   they cut the comercials down too )

    http://www.cbs.com/

  3. I get tired of interruptions, but lately-besides tennis- my favorite soaps (As the World Turns & Guiding Light) haven't been interrupted. And, I catch them on http://www.cbs.com is they are. I get mad too, especially about the tennis, but oh well-the US Open only happens once a year.

  4. tough

  5. It's not just CBS Soaps.  If there's Breaking News, you can bet our soaps will be interrupted.  I do think the tennis Open should be on the Sports stations....not network.  And if something earth-shattering happens I want to know now...so I don't care.

  6. They do it to Days of Our Lives on NBC too! It sux. Then I live in Houston so we get local news interruptions during every rainstorm, chemical leak, or police chase. They ALWAYS put tennis on in July over Days of our Lives & we all hate it.

  7. Oh yes! The other day I recorded it in my DVR only to find out that half of it remaining was the republican presidential c**p!  If I know ahead of time I recorded it again from SoapNet.  They always repeat them twice over the day and if I miss that I go to Toni Spoiler. Unfortunately, with all the tennis games we lose an entire day of soaps.

  8. I know, it's totally annoying. I've decided that I'm not voting for McCain just because he announced his vice president during y&r, lol

  9. It is annoying.  I think it's been that way since the beginning of time though.

  10. I have been saying this for years.

Kudos to you for saying it too.

    Why do they do it?!

Do they interrupt the championship basketball tournaments or

    baseball world series.

Some of us value our soaps just like some people value their tournaments, yet the soaps are constantly getting the shaft.

I do have to say yeah for the soap channel that replays the stories at night or on the weekend, so that way if my Y & R gets interrupted by another republican announcement, I can catch the actual soap later on in the day.

  11. I was thinking that on monday when I changed channels and the other soaps were on, it is a shame that cbs always does that.

  12. OMG yes!! So we only get 3 d**n days of soaps this week and I am very upset! Monday was tennis for 6 hours and Friday is the same, plus your so right and about the Presidential c**p!!!!!

  13. Well, on holiday's they always air sports over the soaps because the target audience turns from "house wives" to men. McCain anouncing his VP selection during the soaps was strictly strategy. A lot of soap watchers were Clinton supporters who dont like Obama. It was a great time to try to appeal to them by announcing his female VP. To bad he seems to have made people angry in the process.
