Anyone else watching the French Open know this regarding "peekers"?

In the French Open where the line judges stand, you know how their are three holes in the wall? When they go up close to the server there are always people standing inside the holes below. Who are they? Why are they there? Thanks!

At the US Open I've seen them and I always thought there was a camera there as well. I'm not sure though.
