Anyone ever auditioned for a major/somewhat major project?

I dont know if its ''major'' lol but ive auditioned for a school play. It ws Sound of Music, I got through and go the part of Sister Sophia. What our director did was make us sing first, from memory, in front of everyone. It was nervewrecking, but you get used to it. Then if you passed that, you went to dance. They gave us stepps to do and we just did them the best we can. Then if you passed that, they took you and gve you scripts to read aloud.
