June 15th I'm going on a cruise to st. thomas, dominca, barbados, st. lucia, antigua, and st. kitts & nevis. Just wondering if anyone has been to these places and what are the good things we should check out when we go to each island and what things to avoid.

  1. In Barbados do an Island Safari tour and if you have time check out Harrisons cave.

In St. Lucia visit check out the Soufrière Volcano and the Pitons

I have never been to St. Kitts but I plan to and have heard good reviews about the train tour around the island.

  2. St Lucia we sea kayaked across Rodney bay to Pigeon Point. Then we hiked up the hill to historic Fort Rodney. The view was spectacular. We went to the straw market and bought banana salsa. Yum. For Antigua we just hopped in a cab and we requested Dickenson's Beach. Really beautiful. Make sure that you negotiate a price with the driver before you get in. They tend to be pushy but not rude. If you have a group they are more likely to cut you a break price wise.  I also reccommend taking the ferry to St. John from St. Thomas. Its so beautiful and so many fewer people.

For your other islands go to cruisecritic.com or cruiseaddicts.com and search under Caribbean destinations. Or ask any question there. Bon voyage and have a frozen thingy for me.

  3. Get to Red Hook Pointe in St. Thomas as early as possible and take the ferry there to St John, or St. Croix. I recomend St. John; we have gone there and its very beautiful. You can do beach, sightseeing, traveling, eating and drinking, pictures, video, snorkeling, buy souveniers all in one day. You return to St. Thomas in time for boarding, (depending if you stay longer on St. John or St. Croix.). Dominica is very poor, will find a lot of spices. St. Lucia is also very beautiful, and between it and the other islands you will find good prices here and in St. Chris. Barbados is more up-beat, mind ther dress-code, it`s important. Most islands people are very friendly, be ware of your area and your belongings and passport. Stay in groups, don`t waqnder off on your own alone. There are some plants that you may be allergic to or poisonous. Use plenty of high spf lotions, you`re very close to the Equator and UV rays here are very bright. Enjoy the local food, it`s fresh and good and healthy.

  4. I have been to Barbados.  I did the "island" tour and was quite pleased.  We explored a very old church that was on top of a cliff and a humongous cave system.  very interesting!  i believe there is also a rum distillery on Barbados.  on Antigua we also did the island tour.  It wasn't near as neat as Barbados but still fun and interesting.  hope this helps

  5. St. Thomas has very beautiful beaches and also great shopping. Dominica is very poor but has a very beautiful waterfall. If you don't mind steep climbs I suggest that. In Barbados they have Malibu and mount g*y rum. The tours were pretty cool. St. Lucia also has a gorgeous waterfall and its easy to get to. They also have a zip line. I haven't been to Antigua and St. Kitts yet.
