  1. just be yourself. i used to be super shy, but when i started middle school and now highschool, i decided to go up to some people and introduce my self and ask if i could sit with them. its the simplest decision and it boosts your confidence to be able to talk to someone new and make friends and become more outgoing with your current friends.

    hope this helps:)

  2. yes, i used to be incredible shy as a kid and teen.  the more experience you have (good and bad) with other people, the less shy you'll be.

Life experience around people  will help you overcome it :-)

Also, sometimes i think people are shy because they fail to realize that everyone is really in the same boat as you - they're just trying to figure out who they are and find they're place in the world.  We're all different and have our own unique opinions - don't be afrad to stand up for who you are :-)

by the way, i don't see shyness as much of problem, as long as it doesn't interfere with you life negatively - some people are just naturally shy!

  3. I know exactly how you feel. I've always been very quiet and very shy. The reason is because im very self concious about everything i seem to do or say. I thought that it would never change, but this summer i went to my sleepaway camp for the 6th summer in a row, not expecting any change in my personality, but something changed in me once i was there. It was so weird. I suddenly didnt feel self concious and i was able to be myself without worrying what other people thought of me. I became so close with so many people and i'm not looked upon as shy anymore, so i have overcome it. It was really amazing. What i did was to keep reminding myself that no one is judging what i have to do or say, and that people will like me a lot better if they got to know me, and the only way that they can get to know me is if i talk and be myself. No matter how hard it got if i was nervous, i just kept telling myself that, and it just got easier and easier to be myself. I also told myself that i would be a lot happier if i could just be who i was, and i was right. If i could overcome it, i know you can. Good luck =]
