  1. Yeah....my grandma's Maxima has some tires that make a horrible sound.

  2. Don't believe its the tires.   Could be brake rotors.

  3. I dont believe it, while road noise is a common issue with tires and it depends on things like type of pavement and inflation, the noise that you are describing is not one that is associated with this problem.

  4. Definitely. If one of the tires is out of round, just plain funky, or the belt broke, you'll hear and possibly feel it.

  5. You should have included the brand and model of the tires. tirerack.com tests nearly every tire they sell and you may look up your brand and model tire under the word: Survey at the far right hand side of all the testing is road comfort and *noise comfort. If you don't like the noise don't buy that brand again.

Depending where you live road materials are not the same in all states. Concrete and the terrible excuse for Florida asphalt is very coasrse nad makes almost any tire roar like a cheap old Firestone glass belted tire on dry pavement. Sad but very true!

I think you meant uneven weight as I can't understand how any tire could make noise while waiting for the ducks to cross the road. Try shooting more air into the tires to the maximum number raised on the sidewalls not the low pressure printed on the door jam of the car.

  6. I experience vehicles with tire noise issues almost every day.  If the noise is from the tires it will happen pretty much any time the tires are rolling from a low speed on up. The cause is uneven wear due to poor maintenance (improper inflation pressure, lack of rotations, bad alignment, etc...).  Tire noise will absolutely not be limited to when you are stopping.  That sounds more like a brake related noise.  Dealer mechanics, and mechanics in general don't know squat about tires except that they are black, round and hold air so I can see how they would misdiagnose something like that.
