  1. Yeahh! Mine Looks, speaks, and acts perfect all the time, plus she never gets angry... I think she might be a robot.. Maybe all therapists are robots?

  2. Part of your feelings are due to Transferance.  These are the feelings that are from your past that you project onto your therapist.  Transferance can be very powerful in the therapist-client relationship.

You need to talk to your therapist about your feelings, so that you can work through the Transferance and figure out where this **** comes from.

Therapists are people.  Sometimes I feel the same way, but I always remember, people probably go into the mental health professions because they had problems they needed to figure out.

  3. I had a therapist who was a little miss perfect.  Her office was perfect, her close were perfect, even her hair was perfect.  I hated her from the first moment I met her.  She didn't even help me.

  4. its their job to appear perfect and unruffled and never get angry xx

  5. Therapists have to seem to be perfect or they would lose respect from their patients. I'll bet they aren't really though when they are not working.

Nobody's perfect are they? Even the Queen of England farts.

  6. I'm a hypnotherapist and I'm definitely not perfect!!!

The thing is that if you are my client I am focusing on helping you, not bringing all my baggage into the session.  If you talked to me outside the session though then there would be things that definitely aren't perfect in my life.

The other thing to be aware of is that therapists have a wide range of techniques and thought processes that help them deal with the issues in their lives.  If you had a therapist who was falling to pieces in front of you and didn't seem to know what to do would you be interested in them helping you?  You would probably think that if they couldn't sort out their own life they certainly couldn't sort out yours.
