  1. placebo? please post up evidence to back up your claim! I've been prescribed Diazepam for two years for panic/anxiety and have never had to up my dosage of 10mg a day. If you can prove to yourself, and your doctor you won't/don't abuse the system, you can build up a trust with most good doctors! The newer doctors don't really have a clue about panic attacks, social phobia, and anxiety never mind benzodiazepines. I had to give a young doctor some info. on a certain benzodiazepine called Clonazepam-she was clueless!
I'm 25 and now I'm living my life, I told my doctor I don't mind taking them for the rest of my living days! Please remember, it's not an addiction it's being aware you will become dependent on this drug, there's a big difference!
Through my teens and early 20's I was on evil, evil, antidepressants and the side effects- don't get me started! many years of being suicidal, A+E, mood swings, sleepless nights, alcohol abuse, alienating family and friends!

I'm now off alcohol and excersise three times a week, I've never felt better, thanks to
a sensible doctor who actually cares about their patients!

I could honestly say diazepam saved my life!
