Anyone ever had heal spurs removed?

How bad was it and how long did it take you to recover?

Yes, I had spurs on both heels. My doctor said I was trying to grow my own set of high heels. Mine had already come through the skin, you could actually feel them.

I had them removed in right after Thanksgiving and couldn't stand until almost March. And I was really pushing the envelope, too. I wasn't supposed to attempt to stand for 6 months because of the severity of the spurs, but I did anyway. This was in 1996, this was worse than any childbirth pain. I don't want to scare you, but, hey this really hurt.

I'm allergic to Demerol, so they were giving me Morphine on a regular basis. It doesn't really stop the pain...You just don't care if it hurts or not.
