apparently its something to do with caring for special needs people.

do you need any special training?

is it a state job?

what happened is, i posted an add on another website saying i was available to babysit... and someone asked me to be a PASS worker for her daughter with autism.

PASS=Personal Assistant Service Support..... still not sure of what it is.

  1. It's almost like specialized day care only it's one on one.....usually at the clients house.

Sometimes people hire pass workers to come to their home.

You'll have to check where you live to see what special training or requirements are necessary.

  2. I think its like PCA- Personal Care Attendant/Assistant.

It's probably similar to babysitting, but kicked up a notch. It may include personal care; toileting, changing, that sort of stuff. It really depends on the person. It might just mean that the person needs someone to drive them to their university classes.

You'll want to meet the family and learn some more details before jumping in head first. It's kind of an open ended deal.

If a parent is looking to hire you, then most likely it is a private job, not through the state. Similarly, I'd guess the training that you need will probably be given by the parents or current support staff.
