I grow a few different hot peppers, and I have taken the time to learn about a lot of them, but my brother in law continues to ask me if I have any ketchup peppers? I told him I have never heard of a ketchup pepper, and he says it is one of the hottest peppers. so I have came to two conclusions, one it is just some kind of slang name for a hot pepper, because I know ketchup pepper is not it's official name, or somebody just told him that a ketchup pepper and he believes them over me. So if anyone has any ideas what a ketchup pepper might be please let me know.

  1. Bhut Jolokia - the hottest known pepper (is in the Guiness Book)

Red Savina - was previously the hottest known pepper prior to the Bhut Jolokia

Habanero peppers - considered the "hottest" of most known peppers

Those are the top peppers in terms of hotness.

The only thing I can think of in terms of a ketchup pepper is a red pepper used to make ketchup.  I think he is confused a little.  Ask him to find out what the "ketchup" peppers real name is.
