Anyone ever heard of a license to paint portaits this can be true

  1. Yeah, I'm guessing it's nonsense.  I'm a painter; I know portrait painters; I've never heard of a portrait painting license.  It might be a thing that a gallery tells customers to make things sound more official and worthy of more of their money, but it's not a recognized certification in the in the art world.


  2. In many cities, if you run a business, you are required to be licensed. This cuts down on the swindlers, and gives the city a means of keeping track of who is doing a service. It is a good thing. If you are just piddeling around the house and make a couple of bucks, I doubt anyone will bother you.

  3. This is not true.  You do not need to be licensed to create art.
