a good buddy of mine went with a little over $300 and turned it into $11,000!!  Blackjack and poker.  Went home with $2500 after splurging on hotel rooms and booze.  Wish I was there....

There's an interesting book called "double or nothing" about two 30 somethings who bought the Golden Nugget (Steve Wynn's original casino). Contrary to standard opinion, they decided to lift their table limits to attract the big time gamblers. Someone, who they only refer to as "Mr. Royalty" (a video game developer) showed up betting $100K per hand and took them for $8.5 million over the course of two weeks.
