  1. yeah; i race.

    It is poetry in motion.

    its my life.

and it gets stuff off my back.

its the best thing thats ever happened to me.

  2. You can watch any race and watch the top riders flow with the track, So yes its poetry in motion. Watch the slower riders and its amazing how they look choppy, off balance.

  3. I have done both, watching on the side  hearing all these screaming machines, bouncing and flying colorful riding gears colorful bikes awesome site. Then you start thinking maybe I can do that too. With dedication, money and time you will be there too. The fun of actual racing the smell of racing oils the friendship and Oh the time spent prepping your bike makes it all worth getting into this sport. Enjoy la life

  4. I don't know if I would describe it as poetry in motion, but then I guess I look at it either from a mothers point of view who is watching her son's or an official on the day.

As far as watching my sons race especially in a National titles race if you set the scene:  A grid of 40 motorbikes all on the line with every teenager there playing for sheep stations.  30 second board goes up and all riders are in position with motors revving.  5 second board with elbows up and focus on the first corner.  Gates drop and the bikes fly off the grid all headed for that one small corner.  You stand there half covering your face trying to look and see if you son has made it round the first corner but through the dust it is hard to see.  Then once you realize they are all right you wait holding your breath and sometimes you hear the commentator state number such and such has gone down, or your rider doesn't come round. Very stressful.

The only thing more stressful is watching Supercross with your son in the race. I have watched with pride when he podiumed and with horror when he broke his leg casing a jump and both arms doing the same thing.

So I don't think I would describe it as poetry!  I guess it is a bit different if you don't have a loved one doing the sport as then you can watch without the worry.
