  1. We sailed her in June, 2006.

She is an older, smaller ship so you may feel more motion on her than the larger Conquest class ship.  Just take some Dramamine before you board if you are subject to motion sickness.

She is a fun ship.  A bit more casual than some of the other ships.  The staff is very accomodating to the Texan lifestyle..my Dad wore his jeans and cowboy hat to the formal night and the staff nicknamed him "John Wayne".  My dad won $1,500 playing Let it Ride and my niece won $700 playing the Wheel of Fortune slot machine. The shows were very good as well.

You will visit Progresso and Cozumel.

Progresso is a developing port. There are less things to do in port.  There are still many street vendors, many of them children.  They are nice...just tell them no thanks and they will move on.  There are a few shops at the dock and the busses will drop you at an open air market.  Take plenty of $1, 5 and 10 in US dollars to buy trinkets in the market.  Good deals on t-shirts and other items.  The visit to the ruins was fun but hotter than heck.  Don't wander too far off the beaten path.

Cozumel is a more developed port with tons of things to do while in port.  You may have to tender (ride the ferry) from the ship to the dock, depending on how many other ships are in port when you arrive.  Avoid the "mall" at Cozumel.  They are very high priced.  Again, take $1, 5 and 10s in US dollars to pay taxis, etc.

Arrived in the early cycle of boarding...the port terminal gets busy fast.

Mark your luggage with brightly colored yarn, ribbon or plastic marking tape (from the hardware store).  You will be faced with a sea of luggage when you disembark.  Get a porter....it will help expedite you through customs.

Parking at the port is $10 per day per car.

  2. I went in December of 2007, and the ship was late to EVERYTHING!!

But all we did was go in the bars and drink, and gamble...there was not much to do other than that.

Some of the shows are good though, and they have Bingo too.

The food is not as good as people make it out to be either.

  3. no! people are dying on cruises now! i would never go on one!!

  4. Awesome sail man.....That Ash chick is probably that fat chick that ate all of the food at our table.....It rocked and had the best staff ever. I have been on 9 cruises and it was the best.
