Anyone ever serve on a Grand Jury?

I was sent a invitation by Orange County Superior court to serve on a grand jury for a year. What does this mean? A full time position for a year? How does it work? Would I have to put my job on hold for a year?

I would do it.  I don't think you'd have to quit your job though, but it really seems like fun!
