  2. Yeah what a joke. Classic global-warming sceptic stuff, as indicated by the "caution" on the first page! While some of the information is correct, many of the questions do not have simple answers and the ones they offer are grossly misleading. Examples:

"Correct" answer to question 1 states "if global warming stops, you can start worrying". Well actually, you can also start worrying if global warming continues unmoderated or unbalanced. This is called a runaway greenhouse effect and there's already a great example of it in our solar system. But most global warming sceptics, not being very good with planetary sciences, would not know which example I'm talking about.

The "correct" answer to question 3 is blatantly wrong and misleading. Cosmoclimatology has many flaws and these have been pointed out by scientists numerous times.

The "correct" answer to question 4 is again misleading because the huge differences in cycles and feedback mechanisms between water vapour and CO2 are not mentioned (as usual, the global warming sceptics choose to omit facts which might wreck their argument).

Question 5 almost sets a record for a misleading question and answer. Fails to distinguish between global average temperature trends and more localised trends, and fails to explain the significance of even a small global temperature rise.

Question 6 is ridiculous. Question 7 is totally irrelevant to global warming - it's merely trying to paint CO2 as the "good guy" with respect to forests. Questions 8 and 9 are not much better.

Question 10 is yet again blatantly misleading, because it doesn't even mention the KNOWN problems which occurred in the Spencer & Christie satellite temperature analysis. Satellite temperature measurements are very complex and there are many assumptions and interpretations, but this is beyond the understanding of many global-warming sceptics who think that because it's done by satellite, it must be accurate (like GPS).

But then again, why would you expect such a quiz to actually educate people when it's intentionally designed to mislead? I also love the ".com" climate-sceptic references it uses. A bit like referencing Republican Party websites for a performance appraisal on George W Bush's presidency - hardly impartial!

  3. Yes. I got all the answers right, too, even though the site didn't think so.

The quiz is deceitfully written. Some of what it says is actually true, but all of it is written in such a way as to discredit global warming theory, rather than inform.
