I'm considering on getting my kitten the Soft Claws. She's still learning to not claw the furniture, and so while she's learning, i don't want her damaging the furniture more than she has done. DE-CLAWING IS OUT OF THE QUESTION. What are some pros and cons of this product? thanks!!

  1. I bought some but ever used them. I just clip off the hooked of the claw ad it is fine. If you clip the claws, though, don't go too far down, though. It can cause pain for your cat.

  2. Kitty may not enjoy the feeling and they are difficult to put on.Otherwise they are great!

  3. Happy no de clawing, soft paws are costly and yes I'm sure kitties hate it. I saw some sheets of light adhesive plastic that attaches to sides of furniture so cats cant scratch them. Try PET SMART ... GOOD LUCK

  4. Great product and it does work, but you have to keep in mind some things when using them.  When the nails sheds this destabilizes the glue   that holds onto the nail caps so they'll fall off with regularity and need re-application or replacement caps.  Some cats will chew these off if they are bothersome.

Kittens are the easiest to have their nails trimmed regularly and most often trimming the nails will blunt the ends enough to prevent any damage to furniture and carpeting.  After I trim my cat's nails, I use a finger file to smooth out the sharp cut.

  5. I have never used them but i have heard from other people that there cats chew them off. Maybe try cutting back the nails. That helps out alot.

  6. well it will be a good idea to get them but with my cat any thing that looked like them were torn away
