Question:

Anyone ever use Target brand formula?

We've got my baby on Similac Advance right now. My husband works for Target and says we should try to give our little one target brand formula since they are all made with the same ingrediants (he checked) and it's like half the price. Anyone ever use this brand (or I guess any store brand) and what did you think?

  1. I'm sure it would be fine to use. It never hurts to try. If it is the same ingredients, there should be no adverse reactions. You might want to buy a sensitive brand of the Target Brand formula since your baby is on similiac advance right now. Good luck!

  2. walmart and or target brands are totally safe, according to my friend's baby doctor, he said they are healthy and provide exactly what the baby needs to survive and thrive. If your rich like some people and can afford to get the expensive ones then i'd suggest that but it really doesn't make a difference.

  3. we use sams club brand and its exactly the same as enfamil with lipil. go ahead and save some money!

  4. Most formulas (powdered) are made in the same factory with the same ingredients, the only difference being packaging. Check the manufacturing address for yourself.

I have used Target brand with two kiddos as a supplement as they got older and was very happy. I still give my 20 month old Target or WalMart brand because she won't drink cow's milk.

  5. We used it along with the other generic formulas. They are all made by PBM so it's all the same stuff. Our son liked the taste of the cheaper formula better than the expensive stuff as crazy as that sounds. We also saved a lot of money.

  6. Ha, I'm sorry I've never used that brand, but your baby's name is my boyfriends name..John Michael. haha cute

  7. Hi. My daughter was on Similac Sensitive and it is a little more expensive than the Advance. We checked into store brands. Target has one for $15.99 (Sensitive) and Walmart, which is Parent's Choice brand, was $14.88 for the same size (25.7oz). We just finished a can of it tonight, the first can, and she seems to be doing fine with it. Definitely saves a ton of money. So far so good but we are watching closely for any problems.

  8. My first son has used it before with no problem. It has the same (similar) nutritional value as the pricier Enfamil/Similac.  My son didn't seem to like it too much though (he drank less of it) but at that time, he was finicky with other food too due to teething.

  9. My little one is on the target brand formula and I think it's great.  Right on the can it shows the similarities to enfamil and similac.  So far my baby girl is 6 weeks old and no problems and the benefit of it being just over $11 per can is wonderful.

  10. We use the Walmart brand (made by the same company) and I actually like it better than the Similac.  When you mix the powder you don't get all of the foamy air bubbles you get with similac.  Less gas for baby.

I'm using formula because this is my granddaughter.  I nursed all of my children and I noticed that the grandbabie's stools are much more like breastfed babies on the Walmart brand than they were when she ate similac.

My pediatrician says that baby formula is the most regulated thing in the world and that the store brands are perfectly healthy.  Oh, and it's half the price.  Give it a go.
