Has anyone used this or have any better suggestions...idk what the heck is going on i am planning a trip and need some advice!

I haven't ever used it myself nor stayed in a hostel, but I was very recently in Salamanca, Spain in an internet cafe where I met someone who was using that website to book a place to stay in Madrid I think.  He'd been using his whole Europe trip to book all of his accommodations!
