  1. Absolutely nothing special about Cancun.  It's overbuilt and very commercial and so far removed from anything Mexican you feel like you're in Miami.  We usually go to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.  It's a fantastically beautiful area with stunning views from the cliffs and very traditionally Mexican.  We would never waste our time or money on Cancun again.

  2. I visited Cancun so many times because I loved it that finally I just moved and now reside in downtown.

There are some great restaurants downtown with very good prices! El Troje on Av Acanceh has some of the best salads (and the largest) I've ever had. Mongolian Grill has fantastic Asian food (Av Uxmel), El Tacolote on Av Coba has traditional Mexican food with entertainment every night except Tuesdays.

    I find Cancun very relaxing...

    Hope this helps some.

  3. Our experience in Cancun was nice.  We stayed at NH Krystal hotel and it was walking distance from the mall.....and most of the clubs.  The food is yummy too!  Charles n Charlie is a good restaurant and a fun atmosphere.  Also I recommend going to Xel-Ha.  I think it's booked with the Tolum tour but we did  the whole day at the lagoon.  Take a ferry to Cozumel and go snorkeling!  The water is great and you'll have lot's of fun!  Good luck with trip!

  4. Cancun rocks.

It's the cheapest Caribbean travel spot.  Most major American cities have direct flights.  I've stayed in two different all inclusive resorts.  The last one was the best.  $500 per person for flight and 4 nights.  That's all food and alcohol included.  There were 8 bars including a swim up bar and 6 restaurants 2 of which were 5 star dining.  Outside the resort there's fishing, snorkeling, para-sailing, pretty much any tropical sport you can think of.  I'd recommend going in mid August as it is their off season and it will be cheaper.

You can relax during the day and party all night.  The hotel strip is very commercialized; expensive malls and tourist catering businesses everywhere.  If you want to see the beauty of Mexico take a boat to Plaza del Carmen which costs roughly $30 per person and is about 30 minutes away.  I went on one that had free beer, food, snorkeling and para sailing.  It was great.

I booked on Expedia a week before and flew out on a Sunday to save roughly 50%.

    Have fun!!!

  5. very nice place to visit try some of the islands around it , food is great , guaranteed you'll go back it's that nice, enjoy

  6. It is AWESOME!!!!! The water there is very pretty there is a HUGE coral reef so its pretty! The food is good but just make sure you don't drink the water. And try to stay away from food that might have been washed in the water unless you are at your hotel........it might be safer there but yea don't drink the water. And Cancun is relaxing if you are on the beach and at your hotel or on tours.............I really hope you enjoy your trip!

    Trust me its awesome!

  7. it was an exciting expirience cause i went to night clubs and they are incredible the beaches there are extrem, ely beautiful all mexican food is good its a very relaxing place its a really good expirience..

  8. What you absolutely must see while in Cancun are what's commonly known as "The ruins of Mexico"... or better said,.. "The Ruins of El Rey"

This site always blows me away every time I see it, especially as it's not too far away from the most popular of hotel complexes.

In fact, you, your partner and even the kids will find it a very comfortable walk, so that's another plus :-)

These fascinating ruins are the ancient remains of our past Native American civilization... Now that's a thought isn't it? Think about that one for a minute.

I highly recommend you put this on your "places to visit list" before leaving home. It's just one of many beautiful places in Cancun.

    Hope this helps.
