  1. Yup, this is true, the slots on the strip tend to have a lower payback percentage.

A couple tips: One, play the highest denomination slot your budget will allow. For example,  quarter slots pay back less, dollar slots pay back more than quarter slots.

Two, the best percentages of payback are usually found off the strip, some are downtown, or at places like the Rio.

Three, wherever you gamble,  be sure to get a players card. The players card will get you some comps (freebies) for your play. The Mirage is part of the Playersclub group and you can even join before you go. Here is a link:

Also here is a link on how to get more and better comps while you are out in Vegas.

    Good luck on your trip!

  2. i won like 1250 at Mandalay bay one day and 750 the next playin 5 cent slots

  3. You can definately win on the strip.  In the larger places I had my best luck on slots in far away, quiet corners of the casino.  Also the small or older places like O'Shea's (central Strip on the Paris/Flamingo side of the street), Barbary Coast  and Slots of Fun (next to Circus Circus) had decent slots and tables on the cheaper side.  Slots of Fun has very few tables though.  I think I also did well at Stardust & Westward Ho, but I think they're closed now.  Heading Downtown for an evening wouldn't be a bad idea either, great light show, street performers/vendors, historic places like Binion's and good slots and cheap tables.
