Anyone experience an ectopic pregnancy with Mirena?

For the last week I've been having VERY bad cramps in my right lower abdomen. I have the mirena IUD so I'm always a little worried about ectopic pregnancy. My 5 month old daughter is exclusively breastfed so my period has not returned yet. I called the doctor but the nurse on call told me I was probably just getting my period and didn't feel the need to schedule an appointment. But here it's been a week now and no period, just LOTS of cramping. Am I just being paranoid here? should I wait it out or insist on an appointment?

  1. Ectopic pregnancy is a very serious condition.  Contact your doctor immediately, "do not wait".  Cause and symptoms vary and if untreated the fallopian tube can burst.

Even while being treated by a doctor for severe symptoms, each time different symptoms, I experienced three ectopic pregnancies that I nearly died from each time. The only means of detection was an ultrasound, but burst before surgery could be performed.

I do not know why you suspect ectopic pregnancy?  It could be gallbladder, typical after giving birth or an ovary infection.

No time for guessing, GET INTO SEE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
