Question:

Anyone experienced Subchorionic Hemorrhage without bleeding?

I am 21 weeks pregnant. I have had no bleeding or spotting during my pregnancy (except once when I bled a little after rough s*x).

During my 20 week U/S they noticed a lump/bulge on placenta. My OB said it looks like Subchorionic Hemorrhage and there might have been bleeding, but it might have been too little and the uterus absorbed it, and I never realised it. I don't have to take any extra precautions and the lump might dissolve on its own.

But he has asked me to meet a perinatologist anyway.

Has anyone else has this diagnosis with NO bleeding or spotting? What have the consequences been? Did you have to be on bed rest?

Thanks!

  1. I had one, but I did bleed a lot.  However, during the course of my research on the subject, I did see some info on the type of bleed you have.  Apparently, it depends on the placement of the bleed.  If it is directly underneath the placenta, instead of on the edge, you may not have any bleeding at all.  I have also seen a perinatologist, have been going once a month for quite a while now actually.  Anyway, as long as the bleed doesn't get any worse, it will likely reabsorb into your body.  I was on bed rest for two months with my bleed, but like I said, I was bleeding a bunch.  They may have you go on pelvic rest, though... Which basically means light activity and no s*x.

I know I don't have first hand experience with this, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in anyway.  BTW, my baby looks great, in spite of the heavy blood loss I sustained.
