Just wondering how it worked out for Mommies who have babies that are less then 2 years apart? Planned? Unplanned? How did your first react? Would you reccommend it?

  1. My son just turned one this past week.  I am due in two months.

We were very surprised with both babies, but very happy.  So much so that my husband is already talking about trying immediately for the third.  I am already in my 30's so I am all for it.

Yes, it's going to be tough, but I would much rather have a few years of struggle and watch them be little buddies even when killing each other than see them spaced so much that they don't have anything in common like my brother and me.  We loved each other very much, but I was already in school when he was born.  We just never had similar interests.

  2. I became pregnant when my first was 1 month! unplanned. I was very very scared. I think it's great.

  3. My SIL is pregnant, maybe 3 months pregnant. Her other child is only 6 months.

In her situation it is really hard to deal with because she gets so sick.

I personally would not do it because I don't think i'd have the strength while pregnant to handle another baby.

But many ppl do it and are fine. It's a very personal decision.

  4. Most of my kids are 18 months apart or less. Two are 364 days apart. They were all unplanned.

I dont know that I would recommend it to everyone. I am still trying to recover from having 8 pregnancies(7 deliveries) in 10 years. But my kids were worth every minute of it!

  5. I wouldn't recommend it as it's hard to chase after a 1 year old and pick them up with a belly plus I have severe morning sickness so my husband took care of her for about 4 months while I was sick and I still feel sick at 35 weeks.

It was unplanned and my first reaction was to break down and freak out. My husband wasn't home and he'd lost the cell phone so for an hour I was crying and stressed beyond belief!

Then after we talked things through, we decided it would be worth it to keep him since we did want 2 kids, just not so close.

It's still stressful at times but we're managing and even my OB says he doesn't think I'm going to make it 40 weeks so soon I'll be feeling better, I just hope he waits until after next weekend when his sister turns one!!!

  6. my mom did. my brother was 5 months old when she got pregnant with me! it was def. unplanned but things turned out great for us! having a brother so close to me in age is really nice. im sure it was hard for my parents the first few years but we all made it. =)

  7. Yes I got Preggo again when my daughter was just 3 months old, it was unplanned but i dont regret it, and Im dun 10/09/08 with another Princess... I cant wait

  8. My son was 10 months old when I became pregnant with this one.  The pregnancy itself is more challenging because I don't get any rest due to having to care for my son.

Because I never really got out of "baby mode" I expect that caring for the new baby will come very naturally.  Also my son is too young to feel the extreme jealousy that an older child would feel.  Also I already have all the current baby gear so that's a plus.  I expect to get back into the workforce sooner due to the fact that the babies are born so close together.  Hopefully the children will be friends and can do many activities together.

On the other hand, the pregnancy is tiring and I know that when the baby is born I'll be a zombie for a little while.  Also it's been tough on my body because I never "fully" recovered my figure from the first pregnancy. So those are the down sides.

  9. I founded out that was pregnant with my second son when my first was only 7 months old. I was excited. My husband looked at me like I was a fool and said, "Didn't we just have one!" I was like, "Yeah, and we got another on the way...you ought to keep your hands to yourself."

I could say that it was planned on my part because I was charting and knew when I was ovulating. My husband on the other hand was not keeping up with that type of stuff and didn't want to stop when I told him that I was going to get pregnant. When I told him that I was pregnant. I told him it was his fault :)

  10. My sons are 2 years apart unplanned. You would seem it would be hard but it was not that bad. What i do is i always plan my day head it make it easier that way.

  11. I cannot yet tell you if I recommend it b/c my second child is not quite here yet....

But my first and second were supposed to be 17 months apart--they may end up 15 or 16 months apart instead b/c I am 34 weeks, and have been dilated to 5cm since 31 weeks. This was completely unplanned! Actually--we used a condom, which did not break, but still failed to prevent pregnancy. I am married, but I reacted scared! I did not want this right now b/c i am in school and working, and 2 kids? like, how would i handle it? it is overwhelming! but i have come to terms and i'm excited now!

  12. When our first was 6 months I was pregnant with our second... when our second was 9 months I got pregnant with our third... when our third was a little under 11 months, I got pregnant with this little guy! :)

Honestly, when you are living it day to day, it's no big deal. YES, it's hectic, but it's your life and you adjust really quickly to it (at least we have)... it's just what's normal for us and honestly, I couldn't imagine life without these little ones! :)

And an added benefit is they are close enough in age that they are totally able to be friends as well as siblings, which is so nice.

As far as planned/unplanned-unplanned, but wanted. I think the only time I reacted was when we found out about our fourth because I had NO symptoms and just figured I should test since I had gotten my period again. What's more, the test was initially false but then the next day I looked at it and it had two lines instead of the one from the night before so I tested again and sure enough, I was/am pregnant! Craziness... this is definately the one that shocked us.
