Anyone flown to l.a via philadelphia before from heathrow???

will be doing this fairly soon. but wanted to know. do you have to reclaim your baggage at philly or do they put it straight onto your next flight?? thanks :-D

Yes, you must reclaim your bags at Philadelphia because you are arriving on an international flight.

You clear Customs and Immigration at your first port of entry in the US, which is Philadelphia. You must have your bags with you when you go through Customs.

When you depart from the Customs and Immigration area, there will be a baggage check station. Leave your luggage there and they will take it to your next flight. You don't have to take it to the regular check-in counter. Then, just go through the security check and to your gate.
