  1. I don't live in Canada but I have done a lot of reasearch in A youth counselor position of working for a cruise ship. Most cruise lines require a Bachloer's degree in Education, Recreation or a related field, or something equivelant if your in a different country. You also usually need 2 years expirence working with kids 3-17 years old. I think this would be a good expirence to see the world. And work with kids! You can look on the different cruise lines websites to find the information for working. Royal Caribbean or Disney would be your best bet because they are soo kid friendly and great to their staff. Just search around the webpage and good luck!

  2. I do not live in Canada or work on a cruise ship but I do know this.  You should contact a couple cruise lines to ask them what type training would be good for positions on their ships.  I don't know if you want to work in Canada but I do know that the major cruise lines do go to a few Canadian ports, Like Vancouver, Montreal, Nova Scotia.  There are several cruise lines that have cruises to Canadian ports but the cruises there are seasonal, meaning mainly during the spring and summer and early fall months.  Other times the ships go other places all over the world.

If you go to the cruise line web pages there will be a link to jobs, employment, or some such link, that will get you to the information that you need, which may be a phone number or address.  This link on Royal Caribbean is great because it has very good job information on it:  http://www.royalcaribbean.com/ourCompany...
