Anyone from PEI? Prince Edward Island, Canada?

can you tell me where is the better cities or places to live there?

and how is the lifestyle? the cost of living? the weather?

the people?

While not from PEI, I just returned from a visit there. PEI is beautiful - so Green. The soil there is a rusty colour which comes from the minerals. I loved it there.

Charlottetown would be my first choice though not big by any means. It has everything you need there but the pace of life is slower than bigger cities across Canada. Lots of old historic homes with those wonderful mariner colours, wide sidewalks and walking to distance to the ocean from nearly all points.

There are so many quaint and interesting shops in the "downtown" core along with the harbor front properties. It boasts a park, gov't buildings, restaurants, pubs. There is a shopping mall at the edge of town with brand names for those who feel the need to shop mainstream.

Driving to the ferry terminal from Charlottetown, I was impressed with the small villages and huge farms with their fields plowed to the edges of the ocean. The people there were so friendly and helpful.

Yes, I know PEI is famous for Anne of Green Gables but there is definitely more to PEI than that. Housing is still very reasonable and if you're looking for a slower pace then look no farther. It would be a fantastic place to raise a family.

As for weather you can go to www.weather.ca and check it there - it will also give you past data. When I was there it was breezy and the flowers were just starting to bloom - a little behind Halifax. You may want to spend some time there just touring and talking to people before settling there.
