My friend is coming from out of town and I want to take her to an awesome, upbeat, trendy, delicious restaurant. I was thinking sushi rock because of the atmosphere, but the sushi is not the best. Any suggestions?

  1. me

  2. Not me.

  3. Bocadillos - small plates and a superb wine list from celebrity chef Gerald Hiragoyen, in a fun Barbary Coast locale.  It's always hopping.

Bong Su - the trendiest new place in SoMa, featuring French/Vietnamese fusion cuisine, what Slanted Door used to be only more delicious and less pricey.

Millenium - she will be amazed at what can be done with leading edge vegetarian food, and the decor is delightful.

Bambuddha Lounge - Asian cuisine, fun signature cocktails, and music too.

Limon - Nuevo Peruvian fusion cuisine in the heart of the Mission.

Maharani - You never knew Indian cuisine could be this delicious and elegant, and the decor is a lot of fun.

Betelnut on Union Street - not quite so cutting edge any more, but the Cow Hollow locale is a lot of fun for out of towners.

Rasellas on Fillmore - delicious Ethiopian cuisine and wonderful live jazz in the same place.
