  1. I live in the state of Pennsylvania.  There are many places where I can take broken electronics to recycle them.  The closest is located 30km from my home.

Plastic are not banned and are definitely recyclable.  Different plastics have different numbers (1-7) on them that direct how to recycle them.

Numbers 1 and 2 are often recyclable but in many places not enough 3-7 are disposed of to make it worth transporting them to a recycling facility.

  2. it greatly depends on what state you are in to determen what type of recycling is available.  in texas, we do not have recycling for electronics. i think they put them in a land fill. we do have plastic recycling but only for certain types. the stuff we cant recycle is thrown is a landfill.

    it is very wasteful.

  3. I don't know about every town but where I live once or twice a year we'll get a flyer in the mail telling us where and when the next E-waste drop off center will be. You just take all you're electronic junk to them.

We do recycle all types of plastic. Each home has their own recycle bin and the trash collectors come once a week and pick it up.

  4. If an electronic device brakes down then we throw it in the garbage. If the device can't be broken down or there are chemicals in it. it goes in a landfill. I don't know about the second question but if there was polythene there wouldn't be recycling plants because we couldn't give a c**p about the environment
