Anyone from or visited Asheville NC? Looking for fun attractions for a pregnant woman.?

My husband and I are vacationing in Asheville NC for the first time the first week in October for our 1st anniversary. We're already planning on visiting Biltmore Estate, Ghost Town in the Sky, and taking a haunted trolley ride. We're also going to check out some parks like Chimney Rock and the one with the swinging bridge (can't remember the name). Does anyone have any other places that we should check out? Again, I'll be 6 months pregnant at the time so keep that in mind. Thanks in advance!

The town of Cherokee has a great Indian Museum and a Hard Rock Casino. There is also an Indian fair there Oct 7-11

Their is a train somewhere close by-Great Smoky Mountains Railroad)  that goes through the mountains- never been on it but it might be scenic.

If you want something a little off beat- try sluicing for gems. You can sit while you do it. Check out dirtyrockhounds.com for some places close by.

Lake Lure does boat tours- Dirty Dancing was filmed there :) and it is the location of one of the HGTV dream homes

The arboretum in Asheville is pretty- a bit small but still nice

I personally love their (Asheville) Farmer's Market- not exactly major entertainment but interesting

Riverside Cemetery in Asheville has stones dating back to the early 1800's and Thomas Wolfe is buried there- not something most people are into but I love the history and photo opps!

Hope you guys have fun. We are going to Maggie Valley the 2nd full week in October week.

just an off the wall suggestion, but there are lots of haunted places in the south. How about doing some ghost hunting? You can invest in equipment, but after that it's free. Or you can just go to the places, learn the history and legends and see what you see.  Ghosting is really lots of fun, inexpensive and you meet some fun people.

But please, do NOT tresspass on any cemetaries or anything as some ghosthunters have made pests of themselves recently.
